Short biography:

Nina Mateshvili is an atmospheric physics scientist. She obtained a Ph.D. in solid staie physics in Tbilisi State University in 1995. In 1996, she joined the atmospheric investigation group of the Abastumani Astrophysical Observatory where she participated in the development of new methods of atmospheric remote sensing, in particular of stratospheric aerosol retrieval from spectral limb measurements in twilight conditions and acquired experience in spectrometry and theoretical and experimental atmospheric optics. In 2003-2004 she had a post-doctoral fellowship in BIRA-IASB under supervision of Dr. Didier Fussen, granted by BELSPO.

In 2005 she got 2-years contract in BIRA-IASB and started to work in Dr. Fussen’s group. She has participated in data processing activity for the SPICAM UV spectrometer data. The project concerned Martian aerosols investigations. In 2007 the SPICAM project was prolongated for another two years. In this period she also contributed to studying of Venus atmospheric refraction with the SOIR infrared spectrometer on board of Venus Express.

In 2009-2011 she participated in AERGOM project which concerned the development of an aerosol profile information retrieval prototype processor for GOMOS stellar occultation spectrometer onboard the ENVISAT satellite. Starting from 2011 she participates in the ALTIUS project where she contributes to orbit propagation and events prediction program package and water vapor broadband transmittance model development in the near infrared.
